Vacancy: Deputy Librarian, SETU Carlow Campus Library

SETU is inviting applications for the role of Deputy Librarian at the Carlow Campus Library.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the strategic and operational development of library services at South East Technological University. Working closely with the Librarian, the successful candidate will support the delivery of proactive, efficient and user-focused library and information services that underpin the University’s teaching, learning and research activities.

The Deputy Librarian will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Carlow Campus Library and for leading and supporting library teams across a range of services and initiatives. Team management, organisational leadership and a strong commitment to user experience will be central to the role.

As part of the library rostering team, the post holder will be required to work evenings and weekends to support library opening hours. The successful candidate will also deputise for the Librarian as required. Duties may evolve over time in line with University priorities and organisational developments.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, learner-focused and experienced in library and information services. They will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills, along with vision, initiative and leadership capability. The role will involve overseeing and implementing a broad range of strategic and operational developments to support the Library’s ongoing commitment to high-quality services for students, staff and researchers.
