SETU Libraries were delighted to welcome Sandra Dunkin, Academic Integrity and AI Librarian at University College Dublin, to our Carlow Campus for an engaging seminar exploring UCD Library’s work in supporting the responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education.
The session brought together colleagues from across the SETU library service to hear about UCD’s approach to AI, from its initial focus on digital literacy, inclusive design, workshops and teaching supports, to the development of its AI guide. Sandra also shared insights into the importance of continuous review, emerging resources, campus governance, and UCD’s strategic vision for AI in academic libraries.
The seminar prompted valuable discussion and provided an excellent opportunity to share ideas, reflect on current practice, and consider how AI services and supports may continue to evolve across the higher education sector.
SETU Libraries would like to thank Sandra for sharing her expertise and experience with colleagues, and the Centre for Academic Practice for facilitating the event.
