How to avail of this service and submit a request

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service facilitates the borrowing of books, articles, and other materials that are not available within SETU’s libraries by sourcing them from other libraries, both within a network of academic institutions and sometimes beyond.

This service is particularly valuable for those who need to access specialised resources. It is available free of charge to staff, postgraduate students and final year undergraduate students.  Users can request materials online through the library’s ILL request forms, and our Library’s interlibrary loans team will manage the borrowing process, including tracking and returning items.

For further information or to submit a request please choose your home library.

Registered lecturing staff, final year undergraduate as well as postgraduate students can submit an ILL request via the online request form which is available here. Requestors will be notified by email when the requested item has arrived and is available for collection.

For further information please contact [email protected]

How many items can I request?

You can request up to three items at any one time. This can include a combination of print books and articles. Each item requires you to complete a separate online request form.

There is no charge for using the inter-library loan service at SETU Carlow/Wexford campuses.

How to Request

Before you submit the request form, please check our Library Catalogue and our A-Z Journals (https://library.setu.ie/research-support/a-z-databases/) for availability.  Journal articles are generally supplied within 3 days, books usually take about 7-10 days. You will be notified by e-mail or telephone when your item arrives. Interlibrary loans must be returned on time or it may affect future borrowing

Copyright legislation restricts the amount that can be copied to:
